2023 LOSSAN Board Members
The LOSSAN Board of Directors is composed of current and former elected officials representing rail owners, operators, and planning agencies along Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner corridor between San Diego, Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo. LOSSAN is staffed by the Orange County Transportation Authority.

Fred Jung

Director Fred Jung currently serves as the Mayor of Fullerton and is member of the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) Board of Directors. Jung was elected to serve a four-year term representing Council District 1 on the Fullerton City Council in November 2020 and was appointed Mayor in 2021.
Al Murray

Director Al Murray is the former Mayor and Council member of the City of Tustin. After serving for nearly a decade as well as on the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) board for six years, Murray currently is a policy advisor to the Orange County Board of Supervisors. The OCTA appointed Murray as a member to the LOSSAN Board of Directors in January 2015.

Paso Robles Councilmember Fred Strong grew up in Greendale, WI, one of three Greenbelt Villages created by the federal government during the depression. He is a proud husband, father of five, and grandfather of six—as well as a tireless advocate for transportation initiatives at all levels of government.
