OCTA invites public to event Saturday morning, May 7

ORANGE – The Orange County Transportation Authority is kicking off national Bike Month with a festival from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday at the University of California, Irvine.
The OCTA Bike Festival precedes Orange County’s Bike to Work Week, which runs from Monday, May 16 through Friday, May 20.
All levels of bike enthusiasts and all ages are welcome at the free Bike Festival, which will include:
Safety and maintenance demonstrations, including how to fix a flat tire, how to properly fit a helmet, etc.
Complimentary bike registration provided by the Irvine Police Department
Information and vendor booths including Jax Bicycle Center, Nirve, REI and others
Raffles and giveaways – prizes include bike to work gear, gift certificates and movie tickets
Contests for the best decorated and best commuter-equipped bike
Bike valet service – ride your bike to the event and securely store it for the duration of your visit
Live entertainment, brought to you by local band, Don’t Feed the Animal
The Festival is being held at Mesa Court, on the corner of University Drive and Campus.
