With the start of the New Year, construction crews are making progress on the reconstruction of both the Seal Beach Boulevard Bridge and the southbound San Diego Freeway (I-405) connector to the eastbound Garden Grove Freeway (SR-22).
As part of the West County Connectors Project, crews are constructing the bridge foundation for the west half of the Seal Beach Boulevard bridge by driving steel or concrete beams into the ground.
Due to the vibration and pounding involved with this pile driving work, OCTA outreach members are notifying residents that this potentially loud and disruptive activity will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Construction crews are continuing construction of the I-405 connector to the SR-22 and have successfully completed another phase.
Crews poured more than 1,200 cubic yards of concrete onto the underside and center part of the bridge. They worked diligently to complete this phase over one 19-hour shift.
OCTA encourages residents to visit the project website to learn more about the ongoing activity and stay updated throughout the process.
