EOC Recruitment

The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is seeking qualified applicants for the open Environmental Oversight Committee (EOC) public member seat. Under Measure M2, the half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements, at least five percent of freeway project expenditures is allocated to the Freeway Environmental Mitigation Program. The program provides for comprehensive environmental mitigation for the impacts from freeway improvements. It offers higher-value environmental benefits such as habitat protection, connectivity and resource preservation in exchange for streamlined project approvals for the 13 M2 freeway projects.

The 12-member EOC makes recommendations on the allocation of mitigation funds and monitors the implementation of the master agreement.  OCTA is looking for individuals with experience who have demonstrated interest and/or expertise in transportation, conservation and/or environmental mitigation of infrastructure projects and who can commit to dedicating no fewer than 25 hours per year to OCTA meetings/activities.

If you are interested in serving or know of another qualified individual within your agency who could contribute their service for a three-year term on the committee, please complete the enclosed membership application.

All applications, along with a resume, must be received by Friday, February 8, 2013.Please email or mail the completed application form and resume to Marissa Espino, Orange County Transportation Authority, P.O. Box 14184, Orange, CA 92863-1584. If you need additional information, please contact Marissa Espino at (714) 560-5607.
