FTA Report Shows High Performance of OCTA Transit Operations

Triennial report by the federal agency has ‘no findings’ and compliments OCTA operations as among the best in the nation in several categories

ORANGE – The Orange County Transportation Authority recently completed a triennial review with the Federal Transit Administration, which had “no findings” for improvements.

Every three years, the FTA completes a thorough review of transit operations for compliance with federal requirements and best practices.

The FTA’s conclusion of no findings essentially means that OCTA is operating at the highest level in meeting all federal standards. Fewer than 10 percent of all agencies reviewed receive a report with no findings.

"The FTA’s conclusions speak highly of the work that is being done by OCTA on an ongoing basis to provide excellent service to Orange County’s transit riders, while keeping their safety as the top priority," said OCTA Chairman Tim Shaw, also a La Habra City Councilman.

The review complimented several OCTA programs as among the best they’ve seen in the nation, including in the following areas:

  • Disadvantaged Business Enterprise
  • Vehicle and Facility Maintenance
  • Procurement
  • ADA Appeals Process
  • Compliance with Title VI, which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, or national origin in any program receiving federal financial assistance.
