ORANGE – Heading into the final weekend of the OC Fair Express, the service is recording record ridership and passengers have two more days to take advantage of most convenient and affordable way to get to the OC Fair.

The OC Fair Express Saturday and Sunday service has comparable ridership numbers to prior years, despite not offering Friday service. The weekend service that began in 2011 has had over 70,500 riders so far and when comparing Saturday and Sunday service to last year, ridership is up 38 percent.

The OC Fair Express provides an affordable transportation option to the highly attended OC Fair, and is conveniently available from locations around Orange County.

The OC Fair Express is made possible in part by funding from the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee.

For the final weekend of operation, OC Fair Express buses will be available from all nine locations, four of which are directly from Metrolink stations.

The service runs from 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 12 and 13.

The fair express service is $2 each way and drops passengers off at the Yellow Gate entrance, right in front of the fair. Upon boarding, riders receive a coupon for a discounted admission price of $3. Metrolink riders can use their valid Metrolink passes from connecting trains and will also receive the $3 fair admission coupon.
