Metrolink Service To Ducks Games Starts Oct. 14

Hockey fans can save time and money with $7 round-trip tickets
Oct. 7, 2011
ORANGE – The Orange County Transportation Authority, Metrolink and the Anaheim Ducks are teaming up this year to offer special weeknight train service to and from Ducks games beginning with the home opener on Friday, Oct. 14.

Round-trip service to Anaheim will be offered at all Orange County stations south of Anaheim for weeknight home games starting at 7:05 p.m. and 7:35 p.m. Round-trip tickets for the special train service cost $7 for the general public, $6 for seniors and $4 for youth ages 6 to 18. All valid Metrolink fare media also will be accepted on these trains. Upon arrival at the Anaheim station, a free shuttle to and from Honda Center will be provided.

For a limited time, participants will receive a free Ducks game ticket with the purchase of two Metrolink Ducks Express tickets. To be eligible for the deal, tickets must be purchased on OCTA.net, at the OCTA store or via phone at (714) 560-5932.

“Hockey fans this season can enjoy an affordable round-trip train ride with all the benefits of hassle-free travel,” said OCTA Chair Patricia Bates, also the Fifth District Supervisor. “Public transportation is a convenient way for our residents and visitors to get to games and we are excited to be able to offer this special train service.”

Heading to the game, a northbound train will depart the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo station at 5:50 p.m. All regular stops on Metrolink’s Orange County lines will be made along the way to the Anaheim station.

The train is scheduled to arrive approximately 30 minutes to one hour prior to the first puck and will depart 30 minutes after the end of the game from the Anaheim Metrolink station, in the parking lot of the Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The last train leaving from the station is at 10:09 p.m. and can be held up to 10 minutes for games exceeding time.
