Nighttime Closures On I-405 Freeway This Week

ORANGE – Construction crews will fully close the northbound and southbound San Diego Freeway (I-405) at night during the week of May 16 as part of the Orange County Transportation Authority’s West County Connectors Project.

Crews will close the northbound I-405 freeway between the westbound Garden Grove Freeway (SR-22) / I-405 interchange and Seal Beach Boulevard from midnight to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 18. The closure is necessary to install overhead power lines on the freeway.

Motorists heading westbound on the SR-22 can exit Goldenwest Street and those traveling north on the I-405 can exit Westminster Avenue and travel west to reconnect with the northbound I-405.

The southbound I-405 freeway will be fully closed between Seal Beach Boulevard and the eastbound SR-22 / southbound I-405 interchange from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21 to remove overhead signs. Motorists can exit Seal Beach Boulevard and follow detour signage to reconnect with the southbound I-405 and eastbound SR-22.

The southbound I-405 Bolsa Chica Road off-ramp also will be closed daily between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. through Friday, May 20 to perform excavation work to reconstruct the off-ramp.

Detailed detours for all closures are available at www.octa.net/westcounty.
