OCTA Launches Spanish Electronic Bus Book

Customers can view information instantly online or print it for future use
Feb. 24, 2011

ORANGE – Customized electronic bus books are now available to create and download in Spanish for transit riders in Orange County.
The Spanish eBusbook includes all features of the printed bus book such as bus and train routes and information regarding fares, riding the bus and connecting to other transit agencies. Customers can view the information online or print it for future use.
“The eBusbook allows our customers to tailor bus route information to what they need and want,” said Patricia Bates, chair of the Orange County Transportation Authority and Fifth District supervisor. “We know there is a demand for more online information and while we continue to provide printed material, utilizing new technology is a cost-effective way to provide instant and accessible information to our riders.”
To access the eBusbook, riders can visit www.octa.net/ebusbookspn, select the specific routes, customer information and various agency information to download and click “Create my eBusbook” for a personalized package of information.

OCTA first began offering eBusbooks in March 2009 and since the program launched, more than 125,000 bus books have been downloaded. Printed copies continue to be available for $1 on board OCTA buses, at the OCTA store and online.
In addition to the eBusBooks, riders can access route information through OCTA’s Text 4 Next program, receive bus updates via Twitter by following @OCTABusUpdates and get personalized online newsletters.
