OCTA Seeks Volunteers for Two Citizens Advisory Committees

ORANGE – The Orange County Transportation Authority is looking for community leaders to serve on two important citizens’ advisory committees that provide public input on a broad range of transportation-related issues.

OCTA is currently looking to fill openings on the Citizens Advisory Committee, a 34-member group that provides input on a range of transportation projects, studies and outreach activities, and on the Special Needs Advisory Committee, which serves as a liaison between customers with special needs, care providers and service agencies.

Eligibility to apply for the committees includes:

  • Citizens Advisory Committee: Applicants must be age 18 or older and live in Orange County. OCTA is seeking individuals with a demonstrated interest in community activities and transportation issues who are willing to dedicate at least 15 hours annually to committee meetings and activities. Appointees will serve a two-year term.
  • Special Needs Advisory Committee: Applicants must be age 18 or older and live in or represent constituencies in Orange County. OCTA is seeking people who represent individuals with disabilities or senior citizens to advise the agency on issues related to OCTA transit and paratransit services and how to best receive input from transit users who are seniors or have special needs. Applicants must be willing to dedicate at least 12 hours annually to the committee. Appointees will serve a three-year term.

Each committee meets quarterly at OCTA headquarters, 550 S. Main St. in Orange.

Applications for each committee are available online and due by 5 p.m. Monday, April 10.
