May 26, 2011
ORANGE – School is about to let out for the summer and the Orange County Transportation Authority is offering the perfect summer ride for those 18 and younger.
The Youth Summer Bus Pass provides the opportunity to use the bus system at a reduced rate from June 1 to Aug. 31. In addition, pass holders who take the OC Fair Express bus to the Orange County Fair will receive a coupon for $2 admission into the fair.
“For less than what it costs to fill up one tank of gas, pass holders can take the bus for three full months,” said Patricia Bates, chair of OCTA and Fifth District supervisor. “This is a great option for those who do not drive or want to avoid paying the high cost of gas.”
With more than 6,200 bus stops, riders can go anywhere in the county, from the beaches in San Clemente to Medieval Times in Buena Park. Pass holders also will experience the benefits of discounts at 25 businesses and entertainment centers throughout the county including Wild Rivers and Knott’s Berry Farm/Soak City.
The $50 pass can be purchased online, over the phone, at Ralphs or at the OCTA store.
