Three countywide meetings will be held to discuss the Transit System Study Pilot Project and how to make services efficient for riders

ORANGE - The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) invites the public to attend a series of community meetings to provide input on the three new proposed bus service concepts.
In 2011, OCTA completed the Transit System Study, which was designed to find more efficient and cost-effective ways to improve transit services throughout the county. Based on that study, OCTA is proposing pilot programs to add new services to four selected bus routes. The routes affected include: 43, 722, 273 and 543.
To discuss the proposed changes, the following meetings will take place from 6 to 8 p.m.:
Tuesday, Nov. 13
Laguna Hills Community Center, Heritage Room
25555 Alicia Parkway in Laguna Hills
Accessible by bus route 91
Wednesday, Nov. 14
Anaheim Downtown Community Center
250 East Center St. in Anaheim
Accessible by bus routes 42 and 47
Thursday, Nov. 15
Westminster Senior Center – West Room
8200 Westminster Blvd. in Westminster
Accessible by bus routes 29 and 60
The proposed service changes include:
- Service on Harbor Blvd (June 2013)
- Route 43: Frequency Reduction from Fullerton to Costa Mesa (Route 543 would provide additional service to the busiest stops)
- Route 543: Limited-Stop Service on Harbor Blvd from Fullerton to Santa Ana
- Route 273: Intracounty Express on SR-73 (October 2013) fromLaguna Niguel to Costa Mesa via SR-73
- Route 722: Intercounty Express on SR-22 (February 2014)from Santa Ana to Long Beach via SR-22
Spanish translation services will be available at all community meetings and Vietnamese translation will be available at the Nov. 15 meeting in Westminster.
Feedback from the meetings will provide OCTA with direction to adjust the pilot projects to offer residents more efficient transit services.
The proposed pilot projects will be funded through the federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program.
