Supervisor Lisa Bartlett Selected as OCTA Board Chair

Director Tim Shaw will serve as vice chair of the board

Orange – Director Lisa Bartlett, also the Fifth District Supervisor, was unanimously selected today as the new chair of the Orange County Transportation Authority Board of Directors.

Bartlett served as the OCTA board’s vice chair for the last year. She replaces outgoing Chair Michael Hennessey, who remains on the board as one of two public members.

“I’m honored to be selected by my colleagues to help guide an agency that is so vital to improving the lives of the county’s residents, employees and visitors,” said Bartlett. “I look forward to working closely with the agency, public and our stakeholders to deliver much-needed and innovative transportation solutions that will benefit us today and shape our future.”

Bartlett is the Fifth District Supervisor for the County of Orange, and she also serves on the boards of CalOptima, Orange County Fire Authority, Transportation Corridor Agencies and the Orange County Local Agency Formation Commission. Previously, she served for eight years on the Dana Point City Council.

Bartlett earned a bachelor’s degree in finance, a master’s degree in business administration and became a certified project management professional and licensed real estate broker. Her professional career includes holding executive management positions in a worldwide computer software company, a project management consulting firm and several law firms.

Bartlett, who joined the OCTA board in December 2014, believes in and strives for fiscal responsibility, accountability and greater transparency in government. She is actively involved in numerous local philanthropic and non-profit organizations.

Selected by the board to serve as vice chair was Director Tim Shaw, also the Mayor of La Habra. Shaw has served on the OCTA board representing the Fourth District since 2012 and held leadership roles including chair of the Transit Committee.

The OCTA board is comprised of 18 members including the five county supervisors, two members from city councils in each of the five supervisorial districts, two public members and the Caltrans District Director serves in a non-voting ex-officio capacity.
