Last Friday of each month will feature special event discounts for riders on Orange County’s rails
Sept. 23, 2011
ORANGE – Beginning this Friday, the Orange County Transportation Authority is launching Woo Woo Fridays, an innovative concept that provides Metrolink riders with great deals and fun on the last Friday of the month.
OCTA will select a Metrolink station and arrange for discounts and special offers near and around that destination each month. Once passengers arrive, they can show their Metrolink pass to receive deals at the participating locations nearby.
The first event takes place Sept. 30 near the Fullerton Metrolink station at The Slidebar Rock-N-Roll Kitchen. The restaurant is offering a free Zebrahead concert. In addition, free OCLINK train passes will be given away to the first 100 people at the Irvine and Tustin stations beginning at 5p.m.
OCLINK passes are sold for $7 roundtrip and can be purchased at:
• Orange County Metrolink train stations
• Von’s, Ralphs and Pavilions supermarkets
• On all local OCTA buses
• The OCTA Store in Orange
• Online at www.octa.net/OCLINK or call (714) 560-5932
Trains will be running the night of the event from Laguna Nigel/Mission Viejo, Irvine, Tustin, Santa Ana, Orange and Anaheim to make it to the Fullerton station just in time for the concert.
