Rail Projects Overview
Both traditional passenger rail and the upcoming streetcar offer convenient, car-free transportation alternatives that connect to many locations within Orange County and beyond.

                                This five-story structure will be located at an existing City of Orange surface parking lot located at the corner of Chapman Avenue and Lemon Street. The addition of parking spaces will improve accessibility for Metrolink riders and motorists visiting Old Towne Orange.

                                Through the Metrolink Service Expansion Program, OCTA deployed a total of ten new Metrolink intracounty trains operating between the stations at Fullerton and Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo. These trains primarily operate in the midday and evening hours and has seen increased ridership as a result.

                                OCTA, in cooperation with Metrolink, the city of Laguna Niguel and the city of San Juan Capistrano, proposes the addition of approximately 1.8 miles of new passing siding railroad track adjacent to the existing mainline railroad track from the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo Metrolink Station to 500-feet north of Trabuco Creek in San Juan Capistrano.

                                The Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) is a major multi-modal transportation hub serving commuters and residents in the City of Anaheim. In addition to OCTA buses and Metrolink trains, ARTIC provides transit connections to Pacific Surfliner Amtrak, Anaheim Resort Transit (ART), shuttle and charter bus service, taxis, bikes, and other private transportation services available.

                                The Sand Canyon Avenue Undercrossing project along the LOSSAN rail corridor between Interstate 5 and Oak Canyon/Laguna Canyon Road in Irvine opened to motorists on July 14, 2014. The project lowered Sand Canyon Avenue under the railroad tracks and widened the roadway from four to six lanes.

                                The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), in partnership with the City of Tustin, constructed the Tustin Metrolink Parking Structure. The four-level parking structure provides commuters with over 800 parking spaces to meet current and future demand for bus and rail service and improve accessibility for travel.
